The chapter participated in the annual 4-H Stream Conservation Workshop at Glen Alton. Brad Jones worked with Charles Lytton of Virginia 4-H to give NRVTU an opportunity to share our passion for cold water resources with 4-H members from throughout the area. We conducted an aquatic entomology workshop [by Ryan McManamay], a fly tying workshop [by Angelo Biviano], and a fly casting workshop [by Lynn Hayes and Jim Thomas]. The feedback that we received from the young participants was phenomenal, and we were each amazed how quickly their young minds and hands could pick up the knowledge and skill of fly fishing. It is hoped that the chapter could participate in many more events like this one, using the same models for the workshops that were developed in preparation for this success event.
